Late last year, three men got out of a black Honda and approached a man sitting inside his vehicle with his girlfriend. For unknown reasons, the men beat up the victim with fists and an aluminum baseball bat.

Witnesses to the crime tried to stop the Glendale baseball bat beating, but one of the attackers pointed a gun at them and forced them to stay out, reports The Arizona Republic. After the beating, the three men got into their car and drove off. Last week, two Glendale men were finally arrested for the attack. Police are still looking for the third suspect.

Police first arrested 18-year-old Jordan Medina on Valentine's Day. Medina is the suspect who allegedly had a handgun and pointed it at the victim and witnesses, reports the Republic. Two days later, they arrested 18-year-old Justin Robinson, who reportedly struck the victim.

Both suspects were identified by the witness and victim in photo lineups. Both suspects also face aggravated assault charges.

In Arizona, aggravated assault is considered a felony that can have a range of penalties depending upon factors like the age of the victim and who the victim is. Additionally, the penalty for assault can have a wide range depending upon whether the suspect is a first-time offender or repeat offender.

If the Glendale baseball bat beating is the first assault offense for Jordan Medina and Justin Robinson, the pair could face a class 3 felony charge and 3.5 years in jail for the assault. If they have been previously convicted of the crime, that prison sentence could be doubled to seven years.
