Few sights are more disturbing than an 82-year-old man in a G-string bathing suit. One of which is an 82-year-old man completely naked.
On Monday, senior citizen John Phillips allegedly exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl while sunning on the shores of the Salt River, AZfamily.com reports. Phillips was reportedly wearing nothing but a G-string at the time of the incident. He’s been arrested on two counts of public sexual indecency.
Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Phon D. Sutton campground on Monday on a report of indecent exposure. The victim told her mom that an old man in a G-string had flashed his genitals at her while she was sunbathing. The man was identified as Philips, a resident of Fountain Hill. The officers took him into custody.
Now Phillips is facing two counts of public sexual indecency. The crime encompasses a whole range of sexual acts, including fondling, exposure, masturbation, oral sex, intercourse, and bestiality.
As long as the act is committed in front of another person and a reasonable person would likely be alarmed, disturbed, or offended by it, the perpetrator or perpetrators can be charged with public sexual indecency in the state. Generally, it’s a class 1 misdemeanor.
However, if a person under 15 years old is present at the time of the act, public sexual indecency is a class 5 felony. John Phillips picked the wrong girl to terrorize. Since his victim was 14 years old, Phillips could go to jail for up to two half years if convicted of only one of his charges.
