Roommates From Hell: Kingman Couple Tie Up, Beat Man for Hours

Roommates can be the worst. Like when they eat your leftovers or refuse to wash their dishes. Or when they tie you up and beat you with a nightstick.

A Kingman couple is accused of doing just that. According to authorities, Samuel Chambers and his girlfriend Tiffany Hill tied up Hill's roommate and beat the man with an expandable baton for several hours, ABC 15 News reports. The duo is now facing a number of charges, including kidnapping and aggravated assault.

According to police, 30-year-old Chambers visited Hill and her 50-year-old roommate at their home in the 3800 block of John L. Avenue on Monday evening. Chambers reportedly accused the roommate of having sex with Hill, which the roommate denied.

Hill and Chambers then tied up the victim and began beating him with a baton, authorities said. The beating went on for several hours, during which Chambers reportedly threatened to kill the victim.

The suspects eventually drove off in the roommate's car, leaving him bound and gagged. Fortunately neighbors heard the victim's cries for help and untied him. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for a broken arms and a large laceration on his head, according to authorities.

Deputies later found Chambers and Hill holed up in the very same home where the crimes took police. Great hiding spot. They were arrested and will likely face charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault.

Under Arizona's criminal code, a person who commits an assault that causes serious physical injury or that involves the use of a deadly or dangerous weapon can be convicted of aggravated assault. While the suspects may not have caused life-threatening injuries, they clearly used a dangerous weapon in the assault.

If convicted of aggravated assault, Hill and Chambers could face more than a decade in prison. The couple also had outstanding warrants for shoplifting and failure to appear in court, authorities said.
